Nova Bank AD Banjaluka is present in market of Bosnia and Herzegovina since 1999 as one of the first private banks in Bosnia and Herzegovina. From then until now, the bank has grown into the one of the leading banks in the Republic of Srpska as well as in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Bank ended the year 2009, fulfilling its objective as one of the most profitable banks on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Bank offers a broad portfolio of traditional banking services (including different types of credit, documentary business, deposits and savings, payment transactions and money transfers, currency exchange transactions etc.), but it also performs a number of primarily non-banking activities such as brokerage operations, custody operations, factoring and forfeiting.
The organizational structure of the Bank consists of: Head Office in Banja Luka, which is located in a modern and contemporary building, owned by the Bank, in the city center and where the where core banking functions are established, and the 45 other organizational units, i.e., 10 branches, Branches for trade in securities "Broker Nova", 9 offices, 22 separate counters and 3 agencies). A larger number of organizational units of the Bank are located in the Republic of Srpska, with a smaller number in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. All organizational units of the Bank represent channels of distribution of the products to customers, who are primarily retail and SME clients, and secondary major corporate clients.
As an established market player bank has also been recognized as a very interesting and attractive employer, and so by the end of 2010, it had 414 employees. Corporate culture of the Bank resulted in a high degree of loyalty and extremely motivated employees, working in 46 organizational units.
From November 2002 the Bank is listed on the Banjaluka Stock Exchange market of securities, and since June 2009 the bank makes one of six actions, in the financial sector, according to which BH index is calculated and which is published on the Vienna Stock Exchange. Shares of the Bank are traded on a daily basis at the Banja Luka Stock Exchange and in that sense they are very liquid shares. Nominal value of one share of the Bank is 1.00 BAM.
Shareholders' equity of the Bank amounts to 70,863,294.00BAM and is formed through the seventeenth issue of securities.
The Bank has very expressed diversification of the ownership structure. Shares of the Bank are in the ownership of around 400 individuals and legal entities, on average. 55% of the shares are in the ownership of domestic individuals and legal entities, which characterizes the Bank as mostly domestic. However, individually the biggest shareholders of the Bank are Adriatic Fund B.V. from Holland with 37% and International Finance Corporation from Washington with 8% of the ownership.
During the last few years, the Bank has recorded a market growth in all areas and segments, which resulted in a high level of profitability compared to the banks operating in the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Bank has initiated a number of activities to differentiate and strengthen corporate identity, socially responsible management and implementation of corporate management standards, which was operates recognized and acknowledged in the community through very significant awards (Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Srpska Award for the best bank in the Republic of Srpska in 2009, the Award of the Banjaluka Stock Exchange "Zlatna Akcija" for the achieved standards of corporate management in 2009, and2010, the awards of the Foundations Mozaik and Masts "Dobro 10" for the company with the best standards of corporate management in 2010).
